Situated roughly an hour’s drive from our beautiful Maui vacation condos is the district of Kula. Considered to be a part of our island’s up country region, it is the ideal place to partake of a fragrant day of exploration. Here’s a look at a few ways to spend your time:
Ali’l Kula Lavender Farm
Consider beginning the day at the Ali’I Kula Lavender Farm. Located on Waipoli Road, it usually opens at 9 a.m. For a modest fee, you can enjoy guided walking or cart tours of the 13.5-acre farm. Afterwards, indulge in an onsite picnic lunch and craft classes.
Enchanting Floral Gardens
If you want to surround yourself with more than just lavender, head to the Enchanting Floral Gardens instead. It is located off of the Kula Highway and opens at 9 a.m. There are more than 1,500 species of flora to marvel at during your self-guided tour. In addition, there is a lovely café onsite that features fresh foods and beverages.
Kula Botanical Gardens
Another magical location that offers access to an abundance of flora is the 8-acre Kula Botanical Garden. Located on Kekaulike Avenue, it opens at 9 a.m. too. The ample vegetation is not all that’s on offer. The garden also features exhibits, waterfalls, a koi pond, picnic areas and multiple tour options.
Tedeschi Vineyards
Towards the end of the day, consider visiting the Tedeschi Vinelands as well. Situated in Ulupalakua, it remains open daily until 5:30 p.m. The winery offers tours and tastings. It is also located across the road from a working cattle ranch. The 20,000 acre ranch features an onsite store and grill. The grill serves juicy steaks, elk burgers and more.
Those are just four places in and around Kula to enjoy a wonderful afternoon. To learn more about what the island’s up country has to offer our Maui vacation resort’s guests, please contact us at (800) 367-5635.
