We know that you did not come to our beautiful island of Maui and book our Kaanapali Beach vacation rentals just to eat at the same chain restaurants. So we’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of some of the great places to dine in Lahaina but left out the predictable spots. Why not give one a try the next time that you’re here?
Duke’s Beach House (Kai Malina Pkwy)Visitors at Duke’s Beach House can enjoy gorgeous sunsets and whale-watching right from the table, while dining on delicious Pacific Rim dishes under tiki torches, at this offshoot of Honua Kai Resort’s Canoe Club. The open-air setting is full of memorabilia dedicated to the great Duke Kahanamoku, Hawaii’s most famous surf legend.
Pizza Paradiso (Lower Honoapiilani Rd)Originally from Texas, Paris Nabavi visited the islands and decided to open up Pizza Paradiso in Maui in order to provide delicious, healthy, and affordable food grown in Hawaii using sustainable practices. Pizza Paradiso’s menu has won a number of awards including two Taste of Lahaina for signature pasta dishes and has won Maui’s best pizza award three times by the readers of Maui News. Pizza Paradiso is proud to use “all-natural, grass-fed, and hormone-free beef” raised in Maui by the Maui Cattle Company.
Honokowai Okazuya & Deli (Lower Honoapiilani Rd)The Honokowai Okazuya & Deli is located a few miles north of Kaanapali in a little strip mall on Lower Honoapiilani. Mahi-mahi with lemon and capers, Kung Pao Chicken, Seafood and Black Bean sauce are just some of the local favorites.Crowded enough that you may have to wait in line, but it’s well worth it. Order the food to go and enjoy a delicious meal on the beach!
Soup to Nuts (E Vineyard St)The food is simple, tasty, healthy at Soup to Nuts. Food quality is exceptional and so are the prices. The Seared Ahi with a salad of mixed Kula Greens and Mango dressing on the side is a standout. The entrée featuring five flavorful strips of fish lightly accented with cracked pepper and sesame seed is excellent and only $8.50. And if you like dessert, the Mango Cheesecake is a slice of heaven. All of the items using fresh island fruit and juices like lilikoi, lime, or mango were delicious and the portions were generous.
Sangrita Grill + Cantina (Keka’a Drive)
One of the newest restaurants to open near our Kaanapali Beach vacation rentals is the Sangrita Grill + Cantina. It’s on Keka’a Drive, amidst The Fairway Shops, and they serve fantastic Mexican cuisine. So you can dine on divine dorado ceviche and then shop or stop by the center’s spas when you’re through. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. Plus, they have takeout, which is great if you’re planning on enjoying a beach or trailside picnic later in the day.
Sugar Cane Maui (Front Street)
If you love brunch, we’ve got six scrumptious words for you, “banana and chocolate macadamia nut pancakes.” You’ll find the island’s best just a short distance away from our Kaanapali Beach location at the Sugar Cane Maui. The chef serves them up hot daily along with fabulous lunch and dinner entrees. Speaking of, you can’t beat the daily, sunset dinner special. For less than $25 per person, you can enjoy an out-of-this-world, three course meal.
Maui Fish & Pasta (Ka’anapali Parkway)
Plan on visiting Whalers Village during your stay at our Kaanapali Beach vacation rentals? Then stop by Maui Fish & Pasta for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They serve everything from loco moco and Kula onion soup to pan seared shrimp and corn ravioli. And there is a drink menu that includes sake-tinis too.
CJ’s Deli & Diner (Keka’a Drive)
If you’re in the mood for comfort food, you’ll be hard-pressed to beat CJ’s Deli & Diner. We’ve talked about their loco moco in a previous post, perhaps you remember the conversation. Nonetheless, they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, their chefs are available for hire. So you can have them cook a special meal for you right inside of our Kaanapali Beach vacation rentals too. For lunch, we’d recommend trying the mango glazed ribs, mixed grill barbecue or royal Hawaiian plate. Yum!
Round Table Pizza (Keka’a Drive)
Last on today’s list is Round Table Pizza and for one simple reason. They make the most amazing Maui Zaui™. It’s a Hawaiian-style pizza complete with a Polynesian sauce that’s to die for. Oh, and there are other great pizzas on the menu as well. Plus, they’ll deliver them straight to your Kaanapali Beach vacation rental.
