"My wife and I have been vacationing on Maui since the 1980's, and always stay at Mau Kai a West Maui landmark at the northern end of fabled Kaanapali Beach. Maui Kai is a 10-story condominium resort fronting on the beach. Every unit has a lanai with an ocean view providing a romantic Hawaiian sunset framed by the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i. Our favorite is unit is the perfect example of blending Island ambience with modern conveniences. It's a junior suite / studio which has recently been remodeled extensively. Aside from smashing views from the open lanai, ice maker, DVR / DVD player, and more. We've spent many a New Years Eve on the lanai, enjoying a mai tai or two, while watching the fireworks on the beach as well as on the neighboring islands. There's nothing quite like it.
While Green Turtles, dolphins, and other marine life abound year round, the Main Attractions are the majestic Humpback Whales that frolic in the Pallolo Channel from October through April. All of this can be seen from the comfort of your lanai, and usually without binoculars!
The accommodations at Maui Kai range from economical junior suite / studio units to larger 1 and 2 bedroom suites. Whatever the choice, each unit is unique in décor while providing standard amenities such as full kitchen, A/C, daily towel service, free in-room high-speed internet connection, free beach towels, etc. Washers and dryers are available on alternate floors. Maui Kai provides free computer and printer access in the pool / cabana area. Also provided free for guests is a grilling area for cooking out, poolside parties, etc.
Over the years, we'vestayed in a number of different units in the Maui Kai and each one has its own personality. What they all have in common is a gorgeous ocean view, meticulous maintenance, and a terrific staff to respond to your every need."

"This was the most amazing place to stay! Clean, private, quiet, and spectacular! We hope to come back again and again!! It really felt like home, everything you could need was there.
The beautiful view of the ocean and Molokai were unspoiled by anything else! It was great to sit on the lanai and watch the sealife go by on the reef below--next time we come back, we hope to be there during whale season!
